Established 2011

Pennsylvania Association for the BlindDoris G. Distelhurst has left a wonderful gift for the benefit of Pennsylvania Association for the Blind. In her Last Will and Testament, Ms. Distelhurst established an endowment fund that will forever support the mission of the organization.

Doris G. Distelhurst, late of Luther Ridge, Pottsville, and formerly of Schuylkill Haven, died in August 2010. Born in Pottsville in 1921, she was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Matthews Distelhurst. Her family relocated to California when she was a teenager and she graduated of John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, California. Before returning to her native Schuylkill County, Doris was employed as an executive secretary for United Mutual & Accident Insurance Co. for 35 years.

Her estate was handled by her attorney, J. Robert Zane.

Distributions from this fund are made to the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind to support the mission of the organization.
